art with a higher purpose
It is my purpose to create art that symbolically reflects spiritual truths and inspires people to connect with the divine. It is through meditation and spiritual practice that I see the symbolic imagery for my art. I am also influenced by designs and patterns found in nature, and in the art and architecture of other cultures throughout the ages.

seeing the divine in everything
I have consciously been on a spiritual journey since I was a child. I knew at an early age that God had to be something different than the old man with a long white beard that I learned about in Sunday school. When I was 14, while sitting on the side of a cliff in Carmel, California, overlooking the vast and beautiful Pacific Ocean, I had a revelation. In an instant I knew that God was everywhere and in everything; the clouds, the trees, the ocean, the cliffs, the sea otters playing in the water below, and in me.

meditation as artistic inspiration
It is during meditation that the images for my art come to me. I learned to meditate in my twenties. In my forties, I learned about mandalas, labyrinths, crop circles and sacred geometry. As part of my spiritual exploration, I began drawing mandalas, creating circle art and weaving labyrinths. I also built a 34-foot labyrinth with winding rock pathways in my yard.

finding my center
Now, in my fifties, everything has come together for me - my spirituality and my art. Today I create spiritual, didactic art that is intended to help people on their own spiritual journeys. I think of my art as visual portals to the divine. It is my hope that these images will help you connect to the divinity within.
